Programs

At Rodness’ Martial Arts Center, we offer classes for children and adults of all ages and abilities. Our programs build confidence, balance, strength, flexibility, and character by providing students with techniques that show them how they can take control of their bodies.

LITTLE DRAGONS:
Our Little Dragons program was developed specifically for children ages 3-5. This program teaches children basic life skills including respect, self-confidence and how to maintain a positive attitude. Throughout the program, Little Dragons develop better listening skills and an increased attention span. They also learn how to cooperate with others while having fun in a safe environment with children their own age.

CHILDREN TAEKWONDO:
Our children’s martial arts program is a perfect blend of teaching respect, positive discipline, and having fun. This program helps students learn how to act and react to the world around them. Our students are treated with respect and are taught to return the same respect to others. We teach students the value of making goals and striving to achieve them. We believe in praise, encouragement and positive reinforcement.

ADULT TAEKWONDO:
Our adult curriculum provides a fun atmosphere while teaching a combination of self-defense skills, physical and mental fitness. We emphasize the positive attributes of our students, and help them gain self-esteem and achieve higher goals. We believe in following a high standard of values to bring out the good in our students and increase the quality of life. Regular attendance will result in stress reduction and improved health.

BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU:
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a style of fighting that emphasizes bringing an opponent to the ground and then employing grappling techniques to subdue them. Students utilize holds, arm-locks, leg-locks, chokes, and strikes. This is a very intense class that will improve your stamina and body strength.

JEET KUNE DO (JKD UNLIMITED / MIXED MARITAL ARTS FOR THE STREET™):
JKD Unlimited was founded in 1992 by Burton Richardson and promotes Bruce Lee’s idea of constant improvement with an emphasis on street self-defense and the notion that there are no limits to our potential. Our Mixed Martial Arts program is open to all ages and all levels of expertise. With this program, our students learn how to defend themselves using techniques involving kicking, punching, clinching and grappling.

KICKBOXING:
Our Kickboxing class incorporates martial arts techniques including kicking and punching, without requiring all the seriousness of uniforms, belts, and breaking boards. Our kickboxing instructors will provide you with a full-body workout while also teaching you helpful self-defense techniques. The program’s combined strength- and cardio-based workout is a guaranteed way to get in shape while having fun.

KALI:
Kali is an extremely effective and battle-tested weapons-based program. Our Kali program will teach you how to properly defend yourself with weapons, including sticks and knives. This program will also improve your empty hand skills by increasing your coordination, perception and awareness.
